Regardless of whether you love or loathe your boss, this is the individual you need to impress if you want to get ahead and enjoy a fruitful career. Get on the right side of your boss and you’ll not only have a better chance of future promotion, the workplace in general will be a more pleasant environment for you. We are assuming that you’re a competent employee with a reasonable work ethic since most staff members in an organization have issues getting recognition rather than merely completing their daily tasks.
Be the Vacuum
By this we mean that you need to become the employee that completes all the little tasks everyone else forgets about. This can range from a specific work process to ensuring the air conditioning is turned on in the morning. This doesn’t mean you should become the office mule but it’s important to take some pride in your work. Un-jamming the photocopier is a perfect example; it happens a lot, is irritating and most people have no idea how to fix it. Becoming the office problem solver will garner attention from the boss.
Highlight Innovations
Although the ideal scenario is for you to be the innovator, the next best thing is to show that you’re on top of the latest trends in your industry. Look for news stories that cover your industry, scan and send a copy to everyone, including your boss, via email. By showing your awareness of the organization’s role in the bigger picture, you send out a powerful message to the boss.
Keep a Neat Work Space
This isn’t as easy as it looks! Too neat and it looks like you’re doing nothing, too cluttered and you look disorganized. Assuming you have a personal filing cabinet, use it! Make sure your papers are neatly ordered and take a minute or two at the end of each work day to clean it up. Savvy bosses notice this kind of thing.

This is another balancing act because staying too late makes it look like you’re falling behind. I have had a lot of young people come to me with one problem. Their parents always want them to do this or that. Others are required to study a particular course to enable them take over the family business. It happens that these young people want something different from that of their parents. My advice is always “follow your heart.”

If you don’t love what you do, there is no way you can excel in it. If you are in an environment where you can’t express yourself, how can you unleash your full potentials? Don’t be a traditionalist. Don’t do something because others are doing it. Don’t ever think of doing something that will displease you in other to please some other people. It’s your life and only you will be accountable for it.

Obasanjo Farms to create more 30000 jobs in Liberia

Monrovia –  Liberia’s Minister of Agriculture, Dr Florence Chenoweth, on Sunday said that Obasanjo Farms in Liberia would create about 30,000 job opportunities for the citizens.
Chenoweth made the observation during the dedication ceremony of Obasanjo Farms Liberia Incorporated at Gbah Foboi, Grand Cape Mount County, in Liberia.
She noted that the Liberian government had focused its attention on the agriculture sector in its efforts to create jobs for the people.
She, however, urged legislators, chiefs and superintendents from Cape Mount County to advise youths in the area to seize the opportunities presented by the new farm to become productive, while ensuring the area’s development.
Chenoweth stressed that the establishment of Obasanjo Farms would help in addressing one the salient aspects of the government’s efforts to ensure food security.
She noted that more than 40 per cent of Liberian children had stunted growth, stressing the need to solve the problem by fast-tracking the production of eggs and poultry in Liberia.
“We need to produce proteins either in beans or meat, which the cattle, goat and piggery produce, in Liberia, so as to ensure balance diets for our people’s nutrition,” she said.
Earlier, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf described President Olusegun Obasanjo as a visionary leader who was responsive to the needs of the people in critical areas.
She commended Obasanjo for his constant support for Liberia and for having faith in the future of the country.
Also speaking, Mr Daniel Atsu, the Group Managing Director of Obasanjo Holdings Limited, said that the farm was set up in anticipation of the adverse effects of global warming and climate change on poultry production in tropical Africa.
He stressed that such anticipation informed the decision of Obasanjo to develop African poultry breeds which could thrive in hot and humid environment.
Atsu said that the farm had six standard poultry houses, adding that two of them were for breeding young chicks, while the remaining four were equipped with three-tier automated layer cages.
He said that the first and second batches of about 10,000 layers had started laying eggs.
He said that the layer houses would soon be increased to 16, a capacity which would produce about 15,000 farm fresh eggs daily.
Atsu said that the farm would offer unlimited opportunities to farmers to grow corn, soybeans or supply dried or smoked fish in large quantities, saying that the farm was situated on 125 acres of land. (NAN)

Bishop Rapes a fifteen year old girl in Port Harcourt

As the saying goes "we are all humans". Clerics are suppose to be role models for the followers. Therefore when a cleric and for that matter a bishop is found to have raped a fifteen year old girl, it makes headlines.
MANY found it hard to believe. They made calls to confirm if those  close to the bishop had heard the story.
But the  ‘man of God’ himself told the story before journalists at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Bishop Chibuike Nwabueze narrated the story of how he allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl after ministering at Calvary Army Ministry, Rumuoji Eneka in Obio Akpor local government area of Rivers state.
He blamed it on the devil and also accused his host as the one who set him up. According to the cleric, after he finished ministering, he retired to rest. The girl later came for deliverance.
He said that while he was pleading the blood of Jesus on the little girl, she started removing her dress. Before he could restrain her, he said he found himself on top of her.
“But to my greatest surprise, I was surprised when I saw her pulling off her blouse and skirt. But, before I knew it, I had a carnal knowledge of her. That is the truth of the matter.”
His head suddenly dropped after the confession, then went up again; this time he said anybody could have fallen for it.
According to him, when he realised he had sinned against God, he called some junior pastors to tell them what he had done to pray for him.
Nwabueze said he took a second look at the little girl who probably was still lying nude and waiting for a second round and what he saw pissed him off.
“She started laughing at me. She said ‘are you angry?’ I told her that I did not know she had hypnotised me. She said I should not bother,” the bishop said.
“I was so angry and annoyed that I called some of my pastors and made a confession, that I did not know what was happening.”
Nwabueze said it was not true that he raped the girl, stressing that it was a consensual act. He also dismissed the  allegation that he later procured abortion for the girl when the father called to inform him that she was pregnant.  According to him, it was the girl’s father that did it but he paid the bills.
The bishop maintained that the pastor of the church where he went to preach set him up and he fell for it.
“We have different Colleges of Bishops. I am the Chairman of  the Communion of Bishops in Rivers State. Well, what actually happened was a set up. It was set-up by my enemies. I have so many people who are my enemies. The man in-charge of where I went to minister is my enemy. He is the person that set me up,” he stated.
“He invited me to his church for a programme, claiming  to be my friend. After the programme, he set me up because of  the tussle over the chairmanship of the communion.”
Meanwhile, the police have advised Christians to be vigilant and ask the right questions sometimes on the actions of some pastors. This way the police said, Christians could different between true and fake pastors.
Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of  Rivers SCID, Mr Samuel Okaula, who paraded the bishop and a male nurse who allegedly facilitated the abortion, also said people should be conscious of worship centres. He said Nwabueze would be arraigned before the court to serve as a deterrent.
Reacting to the development, Executive Director, Institute of Human rights and Humanitarian Law, IHRHL, Mr Ayankwee Nsirimovu, described the action of the bishop as unfortunate as  it was done by one in a position of spiritual trust.  He said the incident was one case out of  the experiences of under aged girls, married and single women in the offices of  randy bishops and clergy men.
